  Life-Line Belts

Overall Gains on the Upwind Leg will be obvious.

Life-line Belts are for use on boats with double life-lines where class rules allow the body outside of the top lifeline.  This position is uncomfortable and can  cause bruising from life line contact.  Your crew will be more effective when wearing a Skelley Life-line belt. These belts feature a hard but flexible curved protector  that engages the life-line, protecting the abdomen.  Fully adjustable, one size fits all..

The Skelley Belt was worn by crew on Winner James Spittle's Melges 24 at the 2005 Worlds.

It was also used by crew on the 4th place boat, M-fatic.

The crew of the Mumm 30 "Illusion", overall winner of the Mumm 30,  also used the Skelley-Belt extensively during the 2005 season.

Designed and Developed by Sailmakers , Max Skelley and Cliff Stagg, the belt has gained acceptance by crew aboard Melges 24's and Mumm 30's. Any crew member that hikes on a  boat equipped with double lifelines (whereby hiking is allowed outside the upper lifeline)  should consider one of these belts.
